Our Practices

On becoming a Christian and committing their life in faith to Christ Jesus, a Christian should be baptised as a public statement of their faith. Baptism by immersion shows that they are made new in Christ, sharing in His death and now given new life in Him. Acts 8:36; Rom 6:4; Col 2:12

Our Values

  1. A readiness to bring people back to God by sharing his message, living a model life, and serving others.
  2. The privilege, comfort, and power of prayer.
  3. Unconditional love, inspired by God’s love for us, and characterised by acceptance, compassion, and action.
  4. The good medicine of laughter to encourage learning, togetherness, and faith.
  5. Godly leaders who are filled with the Holy Spirit to serve like Christ for the glory of God.

Our Finances

We rely on personal giving to support The Anchor. We take a collection during the main service on Sunday, but you can also make a donation by automatic payment, or Internet banking. We use an anonymous numbering system to provide church members with confidentiality and to provide receipts for tax rebates.

Christians should remember the Lord, especially His death, burial and resurrection and their relevance, and do this by joining in the Lord’s Supper or communion, sharing in the bread and wine. Acts 20:7; 1 Cor 11:23-26; 1 Pet 2:9; Heb 10:19-22

Christians are to meet together forming a local church. It will function with the leading of the Holy Spirit for worship, prayer, teaching and fellowship. They will seek to do everything to the glory of God. The local church is to be guided by elders, and membership is open to all Christians who share these beliefs and seek to live by them. They will seek to share with others the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. Matt 18:20; Acts 2:42; 1 Pet 5:1-3; Matt 28:18-20
