The Music Team is dedicated to providing the church with genuine worship through music. The team strives to perform vibrantly for the Lord while remembering to keep the focus on God. This also gives the congregation the opportunity to honour God with their song.
The church band is made up of vocalists and instrumentalists who play the flute, keyboard, drums, guitars, bass guitars, sax, and clarinet. The team meets every Thursday to practise and worship the Lord in a light-hearted, fun environment. Contact Richard Beauchamp on 238 2325 for more information.
Small groups are a vital part of our walk with God. Every Christian needs a spiritual family and a place where we can really know others and be known by others. We need a family where we are cared for, nurtured, challenged, guided, and prayed for; where we can ask questions and share struggles.
Here at the Anchor we currently have 15 small groups meeting regularly. If you want to be part of one of our small groups, or just want to find out more about them, please contact Raymond or Terry Neal on 233 2585. All our small groups welcome new members, and we have one that will be just right for you.
We have formal and informal gatherings, where you can really enjoy the company of your friends. The men have breakfast together the first Saturday of the month and also do sporty things together, such as go-cart racing, golf, or watching the rugby together, while for our women there are opportunities to connect each week for Bible studies, encouragement and support; mainly music; and once a term for an evening of friendship, worship, teaching and very good cake. During the 4th term of each year we hold a pre-Christmas shopping fundraiser. We sell fabulous goods that make great gifts. All sales go to our mission partners directly supporting women throughout the world – India, Burma, Thailand and Nepal. This is an opportunity for us to support women who are less fortunate than ourselves. This year we are also supporting women who have been effected by the devastating earthquakes in Christchurch. As a group of Women we are encouraged through God’s Word, the Bible, to … think of one another and how we can encourage each other to love and do good deeds.
